District English Learners Advisory Committee (DELAC)
What is DELAC?
A meeting where parents/guardians of English learners meet to advise the district’s local governing board on programs and services for English learners.
It exists in each California public school district, grades K-12 with 21 or more English learners.
The purpose of the DELAC is to have communication between the District Office, schools, parents and families to support our English Learner (EL) students and for EL’s to be as successful as possible.

Una reunión en la que los padres de los estudiantes de Inglés se reúnen para asesorar a la junta directiva local del distrito sobre los programas y servicios para los estudiantes de Inglés.
Existe en cada distrito escolar público de California, grados Kinder-12 con 21 o más estudiantes de Inglés.
El propósito de DELAC es tener comunicación entre la oficina del distrito, los padres, y las familias para apoyar a nuestros estudiantes aprendices de Inglés (EL) y para que ellos tengan el mayor éxito posible.

General Shafter Cross Country
Yesterday our Cross Country team ran their first race. All of the athletes did a great job. Thank you parents for your support of our student athletes.

We had a great day celebrating our wonderful staff. Teacher of The Year
Congratulations to our 2021-22 Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Arguello teaches 2nd grade and has been a valuable asset to our school. She not only instructs her students, she also mentors teachers new and old. We are lucky to have Mrs. Arguello.
